First time on the hook

We'll pulled are county fair tonight, used 4lo truck would not let me change to hi side lol, first hook was mod diesel 8000 I weight in at 7660lb went 270.68 and was yelled at for stopping to soon lol ended up 2nd in mod class, I thought I was done saw the flag but he wasnt flaging me he was moving futher out the gate they said I could of went 300+ , Pulled open and went 228' this time I was on the rev limiter at 3700 in 3rd lo and was affraid to shift to 4th so I let it hang and ended up 3rd in that class. videos uploading to the diesel garage will post link.

270ft took 2nd place? Damn i should have stuck around for the results...

that was BS how the dropped the diggers on anyone who got up some speed


Good Hook by the way... you need to strap the front end and throw some blocks on the beast! Hope to see you at Tuckahoe on Sep. 1st.

Yea was first time newbe, They gave my trophi to someone else in mod said he had 2nd when I was 1st were I let out way to soon could of went outthe gate, and got out pulled my a 2' in open and got 3rd, truck didnt do to bad for being setup for drag racing, I just lowered it about 3 weeks ago, front was droped all the wat bolts out was going to block back all but 1" but wasnt sure if it was allowed that and I would of hung weight out front I had 600lb in the tool box.
 
Yeah I had no idea what the rules were... i had my weight bracket with me but I didnt have the bolts to attach it or I would have hung weight as well. Not that it would have mattered, as soon as he dropped the diggers I was done.


Not a bad gig all together, they need to work on the rules a bit but I'd definately pull there again. If I would have know th winning pull was only 270-ish I would have stayed to see where I placed. I tried a new hitch setup and was very happy with the results.

Being as I wasn't able to pull last night I got to watch and have an unbiased opinion of that pull. There was some serious crying going on of guys saying he hit the brakes etc. not that it mattered, first place paid $20 LOL

The staff basically told that old man driving the sled to set it up not to let anyone get 300' because if you noticed at 290' is where the track dropped off and got really rough, and there were a ton of people there last night.

I think instead of *****ing some guys should be glad they didn't hit that 290' mark because there would have been some carnage.
 
I'm happy with my first time pulling, rookie screw up getting out of it lol

Nobody asked you TJ LOL

j/k man I had fun and I was really impressed with how much different the new hitch made... even though I damn near bent it right off the truck. It felt the truck was digging in instead of you spinning all the way down the track.
I'm pulling this weekend up to the Carroll County Ag Center so all my adoring fans can watch me haha.:hehe:

Next time put 50-60psi in the rears, and only drop the front...try to get them broke loose and more wheel speed
 
yea im wit getblown they was alot of crying up there last nite. Everyone in the mod class pulled the same sled, and i may be wrong but, i dont think there is any diggers on that sled. And elhunter got first wit his 280 feet pull and congrads ripm666 that was a hell of a first pull
 
theres is metal welded to the bottom of the pan in the angle of tractor tread not spikes. Thanks scott im hooked cant waitto do it again.
 
yea lots of belly aching going on but who cares its a local fair pull with $20 first place...i could see if it was paying out $250 or something

and for a first pull rip that was a good pull, you would have had first but id put money on the fact that you would have been stopped around 290 because of how rough it got and how the track got loose on the big end.

guess it feels good to beat that guy with the 1000hp/1400tq duramax huh? LOL

I'm thinking along the lines of 35psi or so. I don't the truck to start bouncing. I'll be pulling twice this weekend so I'm gonna try it with about 35 and then try it with them pumped up hard. I also have to gusset my hitch, I think another hook would tear it loose.

i've never had a problem bouncing with 50 in the rear, less air will cause you to bounce easier.

alot of air in the tires and blocks on the rear if you are allowed to run them is your best bet!

the red dually who got to re-hook when the flag guy accidentally shut him down.

he was saying he has made 100hp/1400tq dyno proven and had the sheets in the truck to prove it. i dunno who he was tho, missed his name.
 
that was ozzy , I dont see no 1000 and 1400 tq I made 555 and 1150 on stock charger now I have a the gt4094 and should be around 600 rwhp and 1300 tq my truck wasnt really setup for pulling I just lowered it few weeks back and tires werent the best, buddy said my pull made that dually look slow.I still cant beleave I let right out of it I thought he flaged me he was just moving back sucks having all those people around that end like that makes it hard to see whats going on when your moving along like that
 
I know when I am pulling I zone out and don't look at the flagman until i am ready to spin out at the end, im watching the tach, the boost gauge, the track etc and the only way they are gonna get my attention to shut me down early is jump up and down and wave that flag like a maniac LOL
 
yea i had a big prob wit bouncing i was at 30 psi in the rear thanks getblown for the tip, ripm666 are coming to the drags friday nite
