Fletcher 5k gov springs- terrible fitment

Im having problems with a used set of fletcher 5k springs. The medium sized spring will not fit on the 4k spring seat. The fletcher medium spring obviously has thicker wire which reduces the inside diameter, and in turn prevents it from sitting completely flush on the seat.

Anyone else have problems with these springs? Im thinking i'll have the seat turned down to fix this problem.

That would make sense, i bought used and i have never installed 5k springs before so i assumed it sat on the seat.

Yeah you can bend the spring studs if you try to install them with the seats in there, which is a bad thing.... who knows Fletcher may just repackage cds, cant say they do but if he did he wouldn't be the first.

I noticed that right off the bat, ill try it without seats, one of the middle springs is hogged out a bit like someone was trying to make it fit on the seat so thats what lead me to think it needed a seat.

wait, I thought the kits that came without modified seats just re-uses existing seats, no?

We have 2 CDS kits and they don't use seats, instructions state to pull out the factory guts and replace with theirs. I have never used a Fletcher 5K before.
