A low cost solution would be to cut the tube shorter and cut the dipstick the same amount.

I'm talking re-routing it to the other side of the downpipe. Maybe cut it and replace the hard middle section with flexible copper? redneck?

Who gives a butt if its red neck.... its a damn dip stick, lol. not like it holds the truck up.

i used a 3rd gen dipstick tube set up ,,, just had to cut the mount tab off and reweld the tab in a differt spot ,, mine comes up and out on the other side of the hot pipe on my twins closest to the head,, worked great ,,no rebending ,fit right in ,,, just redid the tab that holds it

Cut the dipstick near the bottom, replace the section you cut out with the same length of Teflon tubing, attach the Teflon tubing to the cut dip stick tube with a compression union.

Just a thought.

I had a 48" lokar dipstick made for a 518 transmission through summit. It was right at $100 and I mounted it on a bracket i made next to the engine oil dipstick.
My buddy's truck we took the factory dipstick tube and heated it with a torch and slowly rebent it to clear everyting.

ok, Now I need some pictures of the 3rd gen dipstick tube:) Gotta friend trying to find me one, and I dont know how to describe the differnces to him

I'm running a shorty powerglide locking dipstick. I had to transfer the markings from the old dipstick, but the hole size seals the same. This should open up your search options a little more.
