My buddy who flys for my dad had a totally bad ass idea I want to bounce off yall. Aircraft use flow gauges that show gallons per hour burned. I want to install one in my truck. Where would you put the fuel flow sensor? Would it be before the injector pump and after the lift pump? I am wanting to put it on a 99 Cummins we have at the shop.... and if it works well enough on my 05

I think that may be difficult, just because diesels have return lines everywhere and it seems like getting an accurate reading would be a challenge. Thats the part I see being an obstacle anyways.

You would need a special sender for systems with return lines. Flowscan makes some nice ones for boats but iirc it was over 2k for transducers and gauges to do 2 engines on my boat
