Chrysler Part No. 4874464 (Specification MS-9224), Pennzoil Synchromesh fluid.
Even better get Amsoil.

Over fill with amsoil. As expensive as they are to rebuild or replace don't cheap out on fluid. IIRC you can over fill by 2-3 quarts if you remove the shifter.

I drained the fluid in my 5600 and added 6 quarts through the shifter opening, but looking into the trans I could still see the top of the pto cover and the top bolt, should I add more fluid or is this sufficient?

Is the truck siting level? How far below the top PTO bolt is it?

I am just wondering for a sight glass I may add.

You are 1.25 quarts over the factory spec, unless you are pulling tons of wieght, you ought to be fine.

I would put like 8-9 quarts in it they shift much better. Had a 5600 that would grind in 5th and 6th if shifted fast with 6quarts. Was told to fill it up all the way and it shifts fine now.

The truck was sitting level and it was about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch below the bolt hole.

I've never had issues with my tranny. Fluid is Factory from 2004 with 121k miles. But when I do change it, I'll go with amsoil and over fill it above factory spec. I've read great things about amsoil and only plan on changing it once and let it go...
