Well, my guess on the valve lash was incorrect. It seems the flutter comes and goes as it pleases. I'm still chasing this crap tho.

I finally got off my ass on vacation here and got a $20 0-100 oil pressure gauge (sparco?). and some copper fuel line tube for the coil (autometer) all from pepboys.

I should take pics of it, I have duct tape holding the gauge to the dash right now LOL

At cruising at 80mph, boost around 6to8-ish (hard to tell that low on a 0-100 boot gauge). and the drive pressure is just off the pin.

When I roll into it, boot and drive are about 1:1 after 10psi.

Drive pressure gauge starts to flutter! it flutters early, like 10psi up around 50psi it starts to calm down and is steady!. I'm assuming here it's fluttering due to only monitoring 3 cylinders? Boot will flutter from anywhere around 25-30psi and up.

I've seen some videos of drive pressure gauges and they do not flutter.

I have the gate locked down. Max spiking boost I've seen is 55psi. It settles to 50psi, over 3200 it settles to 42psi.. not sure what drive pressure settles to over 3200. short slow run.

If for example boost falls to 42psi and drive is still way up to 70 or even higher over 3200rpm, what would cause that?

Drive pressure on one run (lack of time tonight). was 70 with boost at 50. yeah, I defiantly need to open the gate a little. hehehe

Tomorrow I'll swap holes with the EGT probe and monitor how it does flutter wise.

In the mean time any suggestions? I've been reusing my OEM exhaust gaskets, I'm wondering if I should just swap them out for new ones. I've never seen any soot escaping around the ports tho when I do R&R the turbo.

Why i ask about the gaskets is because I didn't expect to see flutter on the front three cylinders. If the gate was venting that bottom puck again, I would expect to see it flutter on the back three (tomorrow's swap)

Just get some snubbers to put inline and be done with it....or make some.
My drive pressure gauges have fluttered on both the motors I've had in this truck....I noticed it a bit today actually. Most of the time I don't.

The cheap-o gauge could have a snub issue. But not the boost gauge. It didn't flutter at first with smaller turbos

also. The flutter is directly assoiated with exhaust note. When i sound like a popping chevy 350 with glass packs, it flutters

I'll get video of it this week.
