Found a few Dana 80 out of a Ford with 5.13 gears. Thats the gear I want to run... Could I use that ???

I don't know what year Ford changed the bolt pattern for the wheels, but that's the first thing that pops into my mind that could be different.

According to Randy's Ring and Pinion, they list the Dana 80 up to 2004 for Ford along side the Dodge applications.

Different customers have different specs, and Dana builds axles to customer specifications.

I don't know specifically what is different between the axles in question, but I would pay attention to things such as hub bolt pattern, axle width (WMS to WMS), and spring perch width (this can be easily fixed). I would also venture to guess that the u-joints used would also be different, but even if they are that shouldn't be a big deal.

I am building a d-80 with a mix of ford and dodge parts, '99 and newer(i think) superduty's have a odd wheel hattern(170mm on 8) Also the pinion bearing in some years are different, can't remember the cut off year for that! Watch out for some ford d-80's that are bout 7"wider then our dodge axle! The ford 10 lug d-80's have bigger wheel bearings so ya can't just swap hubs and have 8 lug.. Im using axle shafts out of a F-450 and they are the same lenth as a standard dodge axle but are 37 spline...
