Has anyone had the vp leak out the shaft seal and fill the motor with diesel or am I the only lucky one!!!!!

I have heard of it before, rare, but you are not the only one.

Feel better now? Or at least as good as you can with having to replace a $1200 boat anchor? :bang

Airdog set at 15 psi. I bought a cheap rebuild and we think maybe they don't replace the stuff on the shaft. It could have alot of miles on the bearing. I'm going to see if they will warranty this as it has nothing to do with the wire tap. The pump is about 7 mo. old and probably 10,000 miles on it.
The shop did a pressure check on it and it didn't leak but this is with no spinning the pump and no gear load. This is the only place it could get diesel other than the return galley in the head and no one has had them leak we could find. I hate these VP pumps.

I've seen it a time or two...and it was on a stock truck. Rare, but it happens sometimes.
