The axle seals on the front of my truck started to leak. I was wondering if there was a special tool needed to replace them? At the moment the drivers side is the only one leaking But will probably replace both for good measure.
Thanks

Yes there is a special tool used to pull the old seal out and to seat in the new seal. It was a kit that I bought that also came with the seals and everything you need. I do not remember where I ordered it from but I know it says on the instructions that are in my shop so when I heaf back after work I can check it out for you.

On the drivers side once you pull the axle and carrier out you can drive the seal out with a long extension or all thread etc. through the axle tube. You can use a regular seal driver or socket to install the seal , there is enough room inside the housing to hammer the seal in. The passenger side is out board of the cad. They sell a special tool for it, but I used some 1/2" all thread and large washes to pull it in.

man thats going to be a fun job! while its apart is there anything else you would suggest replacing? dont wanna have to do it again

i was planning on doing that and ball joints since its apart.
