we are working on the front end of are 91 first gen pulling truck and was wandering if enyone knows how the leaf spring guys are making traction bars that don't interfer with the spring travel or if we :bangeven need traction bars?

have you done the shackle reversal yet? I was talking with Dave Radzierez (at least I think it was Dave R that told me this) last year at the Keystone Nationals and he was telling me thats a big help on leaf spring trucks, moving the shackle up front and putting a solid mount at the back of the spring.

Keep it simple, two leafs sitting on the bumpstops with a shock front a rear of the axle and mount the traction bar however is easiet. I can not run traction bars in the front so that is why they are not in the pics. Also once the motor is in the truck it sits on the front bumpstops completely.

we built them on an 89 reg cab long box dodge - single tube under the axle , same length as the spring from front spring mount to the axle centreline - they did not cure the hop issue

Boxing the frame from 2' in front of and behind the rear cab mount helped more

we got ride of the bars and are going to give that a shot and the frame is boxed the hole truck and tubing welded under it for more support.

Thanks for all the replys thow
