I know I'm a low poster but I assure you this motor is very real, as am I. Lol
I've been around the diesel scene and forums since ~2008 but never joined CompD until now and I regret that. But I digress.

I'm selling my '97 motor that I was going to use in my project 1st gen. It was from a manual 2wd 2500 farmers truck. I was going to do a full rebuild, but everything was still in spec (pistons, cylinder walls, bearings, etc.) once it was all torn down. The cylinder walls still had prominent cross hatches. I have pictures of all the measurements. So I didn't want to spend $ where it wasn't needed. I'm a mechanic for our construction business and get to work on/rebuild everything from weed wackers, concrete pumps, 6.hOs, to ISX Cummins. So this was an easy one. All machine work was done in our machine shop. But I did replace all gaskets from the bottom to the top with all Cummins gaskets. Literally every sealing part was replaced. From oil plug to injector o-rings.
-New rear main seal.
-Head was checked for flatness and cracks.
-New Cummins head bolts torqued to 150lbs "Garmon method".
-New alternator
-New thermostat
-New updated valve stem seals
-KDP tabbed
-It will need a harmonic balancer, it works, it's just on its last leg. I didn't want to buy a new Cummins balancer in case the buyer wants a fluiddamper.
-I've got the radiator, a/c cond, IC and all their respective tubing. If you don't want them, knock off $500.
-I can add/modify any parts if needed.
-Every piece was removed, blasted, and hi temp painted.

It starts and runs awesome and I regret selling it, but the money is going towards my wife's TMJ (jaw) bills.

I've got a buyer local that wants it, but the only way he'll buy it is if I swap out his bad motor for him. So I'm offering it to y'all to maybe save me a lot of work.
I'll deliver free if it's within 350-400 of Borger TX. PM me or text 806-898-0167 24/7.
Call anytime after 4pm

$5,000

Thanks, Ben

Interesting combination, Storm block but with regular 97 head/ and harness

Ya, they started storm blocks in late 97 right?

Yes, but I have never seen regular Storm block 97, normally Storm block and 12v head have been used in 98 12v.

The difference in 97 and 98 12v head are just coolant temp sensor type and location

10-4.
I don't really know all the small differences. Haven't had to yet.
Now a 6.0? I can tell you almost everything because I had to know dang near everything just to work on them
Different subject for a different time I guess. Lol
