Well, we've decided to shorten the truck up considerably before the season starts, found a regular cab for 50.00 and looking for a short bed for it as well, going to cut the frame and driveshaft down and make it a much shorter truck, but in doing so, I've now got to run a fuel cell, has anyone had any experience with diesel in the aluminum fuel cells sold by summit with the foam in them? Looking at getting a 10 gallon aluminum fuel cell from summit racing and running all new fuel lines.

On a side note, the an fittings on the fuel filter canister, those are 10mm banjo bolts correct?

i thought diesel fuel and aluminum were not good together.

i broke a few aluminum AN fittings on my fuel lines and everyone told me its because of the diesel.

I don't think that's true, I've been running aluminum an fittings on my 24 valve for 8+ years now, never had a problem with them on it.

I wouldnt think it would be a problem. P-pumps and fuel bowls are aluminum.

What I'm concerned about is the foam in these tanks, and what diesel would do to it, anyone have any experience with that?

There was another thread on this topic somewhere. I could have swore I saw one a few months back talking about the foam in the fuel cells. I can't ever remember the outcome though.

Ok, a few more questions related to this. The inline goes from the fuel tank to the fuel pump? then from the fuel pump to the strainer or is that switched? Then to the fuel filter, from there to the injection pump. The return side goes from the injection pump back to the tank and the return from the injectors goes into the inlet of the fuel filter on the top of the banjo bolt.

I've got to run new lines from the outlet of the injection pump back to the tank, that is 14mm x 1.5 banjo as I've a crack in the line aparently by pump.

I've got to run new lines using adapters from 14mm x 1.5 at the injection pump to the fuel filter housing, that is 10mm x 1.5 or is it 12mm?

What about the connection from the tank into the system, where does that come in at? I'm needing to order the fittings to get this started and am 500+ miles from the truck right now so I can't go out and look at it. Any help would be appreciated.

What size is the line from the injector return?

Any other fuel fitting sizes you have would be helpful as well. The truck is a 96 2500.
