i have 96 cummins with an airdog 150 i bought the truck about 1 month ago and i just put a fuel pressure guage on and i am only showing 8psi the truck runs great and seems like it has enough fuel

Get an aftermarket ofv from tork technology. Will probably fix your problems.

well go for the tork tec ofv then, in the meantime while then new ofv is in transit i would add a spring the to ofv to see if that bumps the pressure

i took the gerotor off to see if it was plug and it is clear spins fast took the screen off on the water filter and it was clear and i change the over flow valve on the p-pump and i still have 3-6 psi if i pinich the return line on the airdog going to the tank the fuel pressure comes up so i pulled the spring off and the ball and it is clean i streach the spring a little and it didnt help i took the relay off and jumped the red to the yellow wire and it didnt help what could be the problem

usually pinching the line shows that your ofv is bad. it might be worn out to the point that stretching the spring wont really help.

the ofv is good i took it off of my other 12v that had 60psi i am piniching the return line from the airdog to the tank

have u checked the actual flow to the pump? because not enough flow would cause the problem. i assume that the airdog was already on the truck? is the stock liftpump still on it or was it taken off? could b that the AD pump motor is gettin weak. not much experiance with those, just a thought tho.

I've had issues with my AD twice in the past where fuel pressure fell to next to nothing. First time was a bad batch of gerotor gears (if I understodd Anthony at AD right). Not sure what happened the second time. Both times the problem was fixed when the AD was replaced.

Do you have another pump you could swap out to check it with? I always have a second one around, though its not an AD.

Also, if you disconnect the supply side and there is a hole on the pick, it should lose prime or flow very slowly. If you disconnect it and it siphons well, then that's not it.

Good luck
Bob

Sounds like the bypass in the airdog is bad, letting it return most fuel back to the tank.

Buy a new return line spring from Airdog. You can also buy one that is stiffer than stock. I have the same pump and I'm seeing 30psi of fuelpress without boost, 40psi with high boost.
