Fuel Pump question?

Hello,

My cousin has a 2001 24 vavle and I have a Carter hp 9601 fuel pump that i am not using that we are thinking about putting on his truck. The pump flows 100 gph at 18 psi. I was thinking for ease of installation we would just run it in series with the stock lift pump. Anyone done something similar with a vp44, or do you think we should just put the electric carter pump on by itself ?

Thanks,
Adam

yeah you probably just mount it on the frame and cut a small section out of the hardline and slide 3/8 fuel line over it with clamps! I have done that in the past with a few trucks

Yeah that is what we are going to do.

Where do you guys pick up fuel pressure rigth before the vp44?

Thanks
Adam

yes, you will see your lowest press. there! i was picking up at the FASS (17psi) and I moved it to right before the pump and it's only about 15 there @ idle

Is there a banjo bolt I need to tap to pick up the fuel pressure or how should I go about picking up the fuel pressure before the IP?

Thanks
Adam

yes, you can pull it from the check valve on the fitting that goes in the vp, just take the valve out first! or you can tap into the top of the fuel filter, these bolts are available from Genosgarage and I'm sure other places!
