I lost the 2 nuts for the tank straps on my 97, anybody have any clue what thread pitch the non-removeable studs are? :bang

I thought thats what they were. Good luck!

Thanks fuel tank is hanging loosely from the tank straps....still fighting a brake line fix that is partially behind the tank. :bang

*MAYBE* I'll be able to drag this thing out of the shop and run it long enough to seat the rings this weekend!:blahblah1: LOL

Don't feel bad. Thats where i'm at with my 98. I had to drop the tank to put in a sump. So i'm going to replace the brake line while i'm there. I've had to one with the tank in before. Not fun.

Brake line failures behind the fuel tank are really common on these rust-buckets. Ive done two on mine and helped fix one last week.
best bet is replace anything that looks suspicious with new line and spray it down with paraffin to keep the moisture out.
I think this is also part of what causes that crazy stopping power for the first brake or two in the morning.. boiling off water in the line.
