Im running the south bend 3850 pressure plate (thought I would do more pulling) in my daily driver, this past week it quit disengaging and I found the rod had threaded in. At least I think that was the problem. Now when I take off it is hard to put the trans in 1st, 2nd, and revers. all other gears you can fill it drag through the syncs and gears. I noticed also while I was in my drive way on a flat, that when I move the gear shifter into 1st, 2nd, and rev. that the truck does try to move a bit. Anyone else have this or does anyone have a clue what has gone wrong. I really don't want to pull the trans again.

my nv5600 is like that in all gears after the sbc 3850 installed you have to shove it in gear and pull it out but if i double clutch it goes in very smooth like it should

Did you upgrade your hydros when you did the clutch. Another this is that you could have to adjust the rod on the back of the clutch petal.

Yes I have the hyd upgrade, I checked the rod and it still didn't help. Called south bend and they said to look at the fingers. While I was talking to them, decided to go ahead and put in the 3250 pressure plate if something is wrong. I'll know tomarrow what is wrong when I get to pull the trans.
