What do i need to do to put an 2005.5 G56 into my 2000 24v that had a NV5600? I know I need new clutch and flywheel. NV5600 is for sale. also stock clutch and flywheel for sale.

im pretty sure theres a difference in spacing with the ring gear and starter. iirc you either remove or install a starter spacer. i looked into doing this a while ago, but have yet to drive a g56 truck to see what its like....$.02

Something else to think about:

First gear is a decent amount lower in the G56 as compared to the NV5600. When driving my buddy's 07 with 3.73s and the G56 it was more like driving a 5 spd because you didn't use first gear at all. The NV5600 seems to be a 'better' 6 speed in that you hit all the gears because first gear isn't as low.
On the other hand, the G56 with 3.55s (if that's what is in your 2000) may be more suited to using first gear. (If you've got 4.10s, first gear won't be used a whole lot on the G56.)

There is a difference in drive line length. Meaning both front and rear shafts will need to be made. The crossmember from our trucks will work but it needs to be notched 1 or 2 inches, I forget which one. A clutch assy. and flywheel from a truck originally equiped with a g56. Or SBC, etc.. And what Aaron stated above about the starter. Pretty straight forward if you ask me.
