how does this compare to a S-475?

as a bottom turbo what kind of power levels would it be good for?

Are you looking at a gt4202r? Some of the a/r's you list are off so am unsure what you are comparing but the 4202 uses the 74.5 inducer.

If it is a 4202, it is a 95lbs/min charger which is a little less air, by several lbs/min than the s475, but spools a great deal faster and from a lower rpm level. I'd suggest the 1.15 A/R as a primary. It'll support right about 700. What is nice about them is they are always ahead on the curve and not trying to catch up like laggier turbos.
 
customer owed me and was short so i took this as partial payment

its new, the ar # are stamped into it. the ind n exd numbers i measured using calipers and cutting a pc of paper a mil at a time and eyeballing - they could be off a little

i got a pic of it somewheres...lemme find and post it

Ok, I don't know what you have there. That looks like one of the older garretts and I'm just familiar with the GT series.

according to the book it has a compressor wheel that is

76.6 mm x 102.3 mm

and a turbine that is (get this):

86.4 mm x 99.1 mm

tom said that the .96 ex housing is 'great' and that compressor will be fine too, but he also said that the ex turbine is too big for what i am trying to do

he can sleeve the housing down and get a different turbine for it but i think i am just gonna sell it

anyone want to try to spool this thing?

does $1000 sound about right?
