hey guys this is the turbo im gonna look at for my truck theres a guy at home that wants to trade me that one for my htt 66mm and i was wonderin if anyone has heard good or bad about this garrett charger..its a GT37R

Im am currently running the gt3788r on my truck, quick spool and great drivability

is it a loud whistle? any problems with it? what do i need to look for when i go meet the guy and look at it? is it hard to hook up the water line?

They drive and spool great but you'll make more power with the 66mm.

do u guys think it will help with my mileage compared to the 66 i got?

This charger has a pretty good whistle to it, install is pretty simple, the water lines are no big deal, they just tap into your heater core lines. The biggest thing to check for in it is shaft play. here is a video of my truck, this will give you an idea on how loud the whistle of charger is, and how quick it spools. Keep in mind the truck was weighing 9500 ibs, on concrete.

Ya i had alot of weight on the old truck, considering empty it weighs 6240 with out me in it

no its the stage 2

keep yours...

the stage 2 is a GT3782R, i ran the stage 3 (GT3788r), it was a good turbo spools fast but power wasnt there, and egt's were high. i sold mine and was going to go silver bullet, but i wound up going twins instead.

I have this same turbo on my 06 and LOVE it!! Spools WAY better than stock, 0 to 35 lbs. in about 1.5 to 2 seconds from idle, climbs right up to 50 pretty easy. If I hold it to the floor, it gets hot, 1400-1450 deg. at 85-95 mph. I plan to add a GT4508r after the ported head goes on! Get It!!:rockwoot:

You need to know who it was bought from. If it had been a stage 3 from Tom at Turbo-Resource, he modifies the exhaust housing so they use an hx-40 style flange and have cooler egts than just buying a stage 3 straight from Garrett.
