I miss the sound of crickets chirping so i thought I'd ask this one. Anyone tried a GT4094 in their twins setup? Or even as a single for that matter. Not alot of info out there. Some say it is comparable in flow to a 66/71 s300, and spools up more like a 62/71. Just thought I'd ask before I spent alot of time on the t4 swap and all the plumbing issues.

The swap might cut into your Opossum fishing but I think it sounds like it would work great. Isn't that what Soulzoo was or is running?

I hate that turbo. HATE HATE HATE. Slow spool, loose turbine, hot & laggy. JMHO of course.

NO NO pm's, public discussion please!!! I have a gt3782r with intentions of using it as a secondary, gets hot as a single if I'm in the throttle too long. I'm very interested in your experiences with this.

Not sure I will even do the install. I like my Garrett primary more than the large S400's, but it sounds like the models they make to compete with the S300's are a poor choice. That's probably why there are so few being used.

Did you talk with soulezoo to see what he thought of his?

X2 It spools like a GT42 but does not run like one. IMHO just get a GT4202 and leave the 4094 to the imports.

I appreciate the info. Looks like I'll need to join a Honda forum so i can use their want adds. Looks like this turbo won't even get out of the box.:hehe:

Sorry about that. The PM reinstated that I hate this turbo. It's committed suicide twice on Chris' truck and the second time within 50 miles. Nothing we do makes it function with any capacity.

just my two cents im with joefarmer the import guys love these garretts but the are running 2.6 and 2.8 chargers with 25 -28 lbs of boost with hardly no drive pressure i dont think the garrett chargers have the longevity when ur cramming tons of air down there throut i guess turbonetics must have em figured out but noone else seems to be using em

Ron,

What we can do is get together and I'll let you drive my truck around. Try different Smarty/TST settings so you can get a feel for yourself how it reacts to low or high HP settings. I seem to have a completely different experience than what joefarmer has. Mine spools remarkably like a stock HE351.

Jared up in Utah drove my truck a while back and started a little thread about how he felt about my setup... might do a search on it for another opinion. Ok-- link below

Got to test drive Terry's (soulezoo) ball bearing twin setup!! - Competition Diesel.Com - Bringing The BEST Together

Give me a call some time. 530-742-3248.

I just got the 4094 in. Turbine wheel looks kind of restrictive. Compressor cover looks like the one on the S300g with the little opening. I have a hard time believing this is an 80lb/min turbo.

not sure what you got??? but i have had 3 gt,s a 4294R and 2 4202R,s and the all have a S400 look alike v band cover. and they are awsome chargers

The GT42's are excellent. This is a GT4094R. I was looking for something around the size of a 66/71/14 S300. (secondary charger).

Could I run a gt4294 as a single on the street with a cam and some porting, exh. manifold, and using water injection. This would be on a P-pump truck, looking for 600hp, would it do it?

Depending on the housing, it's gonna spool somewhere around 23-2500RPM...but it's an animal after that. I have a GT4294R on my 98 right now...with a looser converter it's not bad...5sp would be a lot of fun;)

Sig, didnt you say you had a small housing made for it so it would spool better? I cant remember what we talked about before on this deal... They dont make anything smaller than a 1.01 a/r for the gt4294 do they? The cartridge is bigger than a gt4094 so one of those housings wouldnt work would it?
