I have a same as new (run 10-20 minutes) garrett GT4202 for sale. 74/102 compressor wheel, also has a T4 1.01 A/R turbine housing which was gasket matched to a Cat C7 gasket. It has a few specks of rust on the bare iron castings. I can pull it off the truck and take pictures for those seriously interested. $850 SHIPPED in the lower 48.

It's a big single, probably best suited for a sled puller. I wouldn't call it a street turbo. It was on a 12V, but the setup was not similar to anything out there, so its tough to compare it, it started to build boost at 2200-2400 RPM, I didn't mess with it a whole lot. I'd say you need 4K or better to stay on it on the track. Garrett rates this as a 600-1000HP turbo.

My journal bearing GT4202 made peak torque at 3200rpm and peak HP at 3400rpm with a .98 A/R exhaust housing. I swapped in a 1.28 A/R exhaust housing and that shifted the peaks up another 600rpm

John this is a great price on an awesome turbo and i was looking for the future, but not enough parts right now to justify. I know what it does on your truck. AWESOME RESULTS!
To much for me.

This would be great buy for some.

how much hp with the.98 and 1.28?

With the stock longblock and the .98 A/R it made 741hp. I have yet to really put it under heavy load with the 1.28 A/R housing but the dyno did show the shift up in rpm range. My plan is to dyno again at TS with it under full power (and possibly this saturday as well).

If you switched the turbine housing I've heard they're really awesome in a twin set.

No, it's a journal bearing, the GT42R is a ball bearing $$$$$$$$$$.

thats crazy!

how would you think that the turbo would spool with a ported head and 140 dp DDP injectors and lots of other goodies on a 94 12v as a daily driver. whats the difference with the GT42 and an S400

i dont know an actual size of the inducer. what would be better for a single. my header has a t4 flange already welded on it. im just trying to get some ideas
