Does anyone know were i can get parts for garrett turbos, seems everyone i talk to wants to sell new ones and dont want to get me parts or can't get them:bang , any ideas :thankyou2: , Jeremy-Disturbed

Precision Turbo can't get them or rebuild them? I know I've priced through Columbus Diesel Supply and bought some used ($$$$) stuff for my GT42 through them.

It's a ball bearing GTP38R need an exhaust wheel and shaft, missing some fins on the wheel

Good luck...Garrett says you can call one of their "Master Performance distributors" for Ball Bearing charger repairs, but I've not found any that want to help.

I have a GT4088R that needs the same thing...the turbine fins were "eroding"

I have the exact same thing on my 4202R....missing the tips of the turbine fins???? One of the distributors was going to check on it and "call me back right away" good luck!!!!

Its pretty bad to pay that much for something only not to have them offer parts to fix it, I to called a few of there distibutors only for them to say we dont offer parts WHAT A RIP OFF! And you can't directly call garrett. If i new this i would have never bought it in the first place and will never buy anything else from them!

I don't have it right now...I sent it back where I bought it to see if they'll warranty it.

Garrett lists a 751470-1 for the complete turbo, and a 751450-9 for the CHRA!

Did you call Diesel Innovations? They say you can rebuild that unit, but its been our experience that you have to replace the entire CHRA for about $900+.

On the ball bearing units garrett has a replacement cartridge program you cant just buy the parts.

I can probably get you the parts needed, they may not be listed as GTP38R parts but I think I can get the same thing. I will have to talk to Chris @RCT Monday though and see whats up. Anything bearing related its automatic CHRA but wheels are doable.

That was what I thought, but according to Garrett's site, I believe there is some "core" value to the old one. At least that's the way I understand it from the "BB Service" page.

I'm not exactly sure what caused mine...both pyro's never showed over 1400...surely they can take more heat than that!

Too much heat at the tips of the turbine blades I would assume.
Yeah, I'm sure it was the heat that caused our problems. I'm not looking for any warranty, just parts so I can fix it. I think it will live a little longer now since the egt's are under control now.

They will handle some pretty serious heat. We ran nearly all last year with egt's in the 2000+ range.
