Gear noise?

So I've got an 02 auto, and I get an annoying noise around 30-35 mph and then again at 60-70 mph. It sounds like its coming from the front end and you get a shutter in the floorboard. It goes away as you turn the wheel (putting a load on the diff?). I changed both wheel bearings just because they have 160k on them and nothing changed. When I pulled the front diff cover I got no metal out of it and had no abnormal gear wear on the ring gear. Any ideas on how to fix this or do I just need to pull the diff and do a complete rebuild?

Did you check all the u-joints?

I had checked the driveline u-joints and the as I was clicking submit on the post I thought about the axle u-joints... Which I have not checked

You replaced wheel bearings and failed to check the axle joints? LOL :hehe: sorry but that funny!

Yep, was short on time and had beer to drink... Lucky for me I get plenty of time off work to do things twice...
