I'm getting ready to collect parts to do twins on my 98 12 valve.. I possibly will be getting a s400 to put under my stock hx35.. I am pretty much a turbo retard.. I was wondering if the s400 would be better than a 3b??? Will I need external wastegates?? I will prolly not do any other mods than what is in my sig. This truck is a daily driver/tow rig. I have orings and studs already.. I plan on buying most of the parts from source automotive, is there anyone else that sells twins parts?? Thanks Wesley

We have a TwinPlate that mounts under your T3 charger and then would mount your T4orT6 charger under it. It has provisions for an external gate. Mounts in the rear to the manifold bolt and the bell housing so the turbos are well supported.

Could I/we see some pics and pricing?

I'm not a turbo expert.

But looking at what you have in your sig, I'd think a single might be a better option.

I know I really dont need twins, but I do pull heavy and the way I see it I can buy all of the parts and the used s400 for less than what it would cost to buy a nice single... I'm sick of running high egt's.... I might decide to put a bigger set of injectors in later.. Maybe.. I dont want to loose reliability with this truck..

Half the reason I asked is because I'm gonna be in your shoes in a year:D And I just like playing devil's advocate:evil

Although I rarely tow heavy, I don't want to loose the ability to if I ever need to.

fine line there Nick.. seein that you seem to follow my BOMB plan to a T with better results than what I get (i need to redyno again see where im at before the "magic" gets done to the truck)

Can you tow heavy with twins? absolutely. You have seen what i load my truck with on occasion:doh: But what kills you and makes EGTS hard to bring down is too much fuel early on, unless you can get the chargers to light early on and keep boost in the optimum RPM range. (16.5 is such a fine timing for that with rips twins :woohoo:)

this brings my current goal to have a 600-650 horse truck that i can tow with AND use a VALET switch to do so.... I sincerely doubt that you can have very much over 600-650 horses and tow, and even with a valet i see it being very difficult to do so. I possibly see a helix cam in my future as well as some kick ass headwork...

You cannot have your cake and eat it too with a 12V. I suppose if i shoot for 700 on fuel alone, my street/towing setup will be too laggy and even on valet mode the truck will be laggy as can be... with the higher timing needed and larger chargers... Add water or nitrous tho, and bets are off.. IMHO

Thus the advantage of the CR/VP engines.

Bottom line, i just want to build a respectable power 12V (old skool :D) and still have the tow rig that this truck was originally designed to be... Thus my compromise build to have the best of both worlds...

I agree.. I just want 400-450 hp that I can tow HEAVY with and not have EGTS throught the roof...
