So I am on my way to the shop this morning and see a 08 F450 on the side of the road with the hood up. Guys said it went into regen then started to run bad and the dash said to pull over, so they immediately just gave it more gas, it shut power down again, then finally crawled and died. They said the temp gauge would shoot over to hot then cool back off. Now it will cank but wont start. They have it towed to my shop, and I run codes, it has a ICP too low while cranking, EGR valve stuck closed, and Turbo A performance codes. They just got it out of the dealer the day before, and it looks like they had the EGR valves off, and they also replaced the probes in the exhaust.

I pulled the DPF off and the truck will start spit and sputter then die, so I think the DPF is clogged.

I am going to install a DPF delete and SCT tomorrow morning. Has anyone had an issue like this? Or does this sound like I am on the right track or not?

Well your DPF sounds to be jacked up so going the Delete way is probably solid. However your getting hi-norm coolant readings which is kinda weird. The EGR issues would be solved with the DPF delete however I think there maybe more issues going on here. Is there anything out of spec, like with the oil or anything like that?

Just finished the DPF delete and tuner, it cranked a little then started and ran for about 10 seconds, then died again. Now it wont start at all. The only codes are ICP too low, and glow plus cyl 2. What is spec on the oil?

I just checked rail pressure with the SCT, and it read 7..... and its desired is 30.....

This SCT will do more than my Snap On scanner will, I am really impressed with the product anyway.

Im supprised to hear that thing didnt blow up at 100,000. To be honest I have heard nothing but bad things with that motor!!

keyword "HEARD" .... try speaking from experience, people will want to listen. these things are nasty, real nasty... sure they have problems like any other, but they have more than proven themselves as reliable and powerful.

I was looking at the 6.4 bible and saw a pressure regulator. Is that high or low pressure?

It smells like raw fuel as you crank, and it will start and run every once in a while, but it always dies after about 10 seconds. What all is involved with pump removal? Does the cab need to be removed?

not necessarily. cab off makes it a lot easier, but it can be done cab on...i believe you just have to remove the turbo assembly. pm me and i will put you in touch with someone who did it cab on. i'm about to swap mine cab on as well.

It will take you probably about three hours to rip the cab off, If you have done it on a 6.0L before you shouldn't be surprised. Its about the same path with some small differences.

Sucks to hear cant say that i blame they guy... wonder wtf is going on with it anyway though
