Here are my current issues, with the govenor spring kit, and injectors even when at running temperature will pop during free rev around 2500rpm. I think this is a fuel and timing issue but not sure. Still running stock timing but im sure these injectors with the higher pop pressure have effectively lowered my timing. (Correct me if im wrong) The spring kit is actually a 4k kit from a 215 pump. What is recommended to fix my issues? Any help would be awesome. I will say it was recommended to bump my timing to about 20*, install a torktec ofv or do the pen spring trick, and swap out the spring in my mechanical pump to achieve a hair more pressure until i can afford a lift pump.

you need more timing... no need to go 20* IMO

but anything from 15+ will alleviate the white smoke/popping

I would start at 18* .... then make up your mind as to weather it feels like its struggling to keep up with demand...IMO
