ebay for a 3" 180 & 45 combo bend $40

1/4" plate to bolt to manifold, use holesaw or laser cut to preference

weld up!

(mine looks like trash so ima not show it :D

if you care about the way your motor looks you shoulda bought your elbow from tim w

think it was like a buck n a half and it bolted right on

looks really nice

but now i want to swap out the 2nd gen plate with the heater for a 1st gen plate w/o

need a 1.5 inch spacer so my shiney elbow will still clear the brake resi

Get ahold of Jesse (GOT-TORQUE) on here or go to his site www.eatsoot.com. They are nice, functionaly practicle and reasonably priced for his intakes. Mines was 245$ shipped setup for grid heater deleat, 3 1/8 plugs welded in and brushed satin finish. Tim

Some of the 94-95 trucks had the plenum plate and grid heater seperate, IIRC the new plate is only like $20 from cummins. I'll check tomorrow to see if I can find the part number, or a good ESN that has this setup.

Any way to to get rid of all the wireing? Got mine deleted, and want to get it out of the engine bay.

Right now its just sitting in the engine bay.

problem is, I want to put it back in after the season is over. Can I just unhook the grid heater, cover the wires and let it be? Or an I looking at a wireing fire???

As long as you cover the wires good you should be fine. I think there is a relay that you could pull as well.

i kinda doubt it

i am just doing it to clean up the engine compartment to make room for stuff i actually need

i know 12v (esp p-7100) are hard starting in cold temps but i live in so cal and even when i am back east racin we race in the warm seasons

if i did take her somewheres really cold will it start at say 0° F if i leave her plugged in? (w/o the heater)

Jeff-The grid heaters are really easy to take everything off and put them back on. Their solenoids draw power directly from the battery, but if you disconnect the little wires to the solenoid they wont activate.

IMO the cleanest/easiest way to do what you want would be to:
1) remove the wires from the battery to the solenoid
2) remove the solenoids
3)pull the wires to the heaters out of the factory wire loom and wrap the wires to the heater in convoluted tubing (if you don't want to do this step thats fine just tape them out of the way)

Then when you want to reinstall everything just remount the solenoids, connect the wires to the solenoids and route the wires to the heaters and zip-tie them in place if you removed them.

Its that easy.

Don- You can gut the factory heater if you don't want to go through the hassle of finding a different intake cover and getting a spacer made.
