Grid Heater

I don't think you'll ever need it in Florida. Removing it may free up a few ponies, possibly help with spool-up.

It keeps the block and head warm so it is an easier start in cold mornings and runs smoother. It aids in warmup after the truck starts. It's main purpose is to heat the charge air entering the engine for better warm up.

I don't think the grid heater keeps the block and head warm. That is the block heaters job.

It does warm the intake charge. You typically don't need them above 40 degrees.

I think I am going to remove mine cause when I had to replace the battery on the passengerside, I had to unhook the 2 batteries so they could be tested. Which meant the Grid heater got unhooked and when I hooked it all back the way it was the intake horn got so hot I couldn't touch it and smoke was comin off the ground form the heater to the intake bolt. The second battery wasn't even hooked up yet, just the one. How hard is it to just get rid of the whole setup like a gird heater delete kit?

Very easy to get ride of them.......buy a spacer and remove four bolts, wires and change.

Glaicer, Poole, Left coast and many others all sell the spacers.
