H1 Hummer Re Power-Anyone Here Done It?

Looking to re power my newly purchased hummer H1 with something else. I have a 24 valve cummins I could use from my rat rod build.

Anyone here done it before?

Might be a winter project...
 
my buddy has one in his backyard. twin turbo Ppump shoe horned in. Its a tight fit, and the firewall needed to be rebuilt and there are some issues with exhaust on the drive train, but it does fit. Lots of custom wiring needed if i recall to keep things H1 happy and engine working. This was with an auto that i can't remember.

I heard a 2" body lift is required for the cummins conversion. But I was hoping to avoid any lift to keep low center of gravity for off road purposes.

Thought about doing a dry sump oil system on engine to help her fit.

I will have to do some measuring...

Didn't Fleece or PPE do a D max powered H1? I thought I saw a write up on here about it, maybe not.
 
No pics that he has, was done at a shop he had a falling out with. Can say it needed a 3" body lift, and firewall mods into the doghouse.
