When hanging weight, is it better to have the weights as close to the ground as possible ( without scraping ground or scales) or is it better to have them up higher, or doesn't it matter?
Thats what I thought. I like the look and functionality of weights being up high. Just didn't know if there were advantages to either or.
Im going to change my bracket so the weights will be higher. Like Brandon said back the truck off and go!!! Mine is to low and I cant pull it onto or unload the truck off the trailer with the weights on!!!
Hight has no bearing on functionality other than possibly being easier to add or remove.
horisontal distance from the front axle is where it counts
Too a certain extent. If you put the center of gravity of the weights below your center of gravity of your vehicle, any forward acceleration will result in a force being applied in the downward direction. Above the CG and any forward acceleration will result in a lifting force.
Guy around here hangs his like this. Never seen the advantage in it but I don't know?
The Lower The Better....it Takes More Force To Lift Any Given Amount Of Counter Weight That Is Lower In Relationship To The Pivot Point Of Your Chassis And Requires Less Force The Higher The Counter Weight Is Above The Pivot Point. Basicaly The Lower It Is The More Leverage It Gives You.
