Hard Start Issue

I have an 03 dodge 2500 cummins just got it about a month ago . It is still stock and it has a hard time starting ? I have asked some of my buddys and they told me to check the fuel filter . What else could cause this .

Check your fuel pressure, possibly injectors, cp3, FPRV, etc...

A little more info on the truck would be helpful like the # of miles and if anything that u know of in the fuel system was ever replaced.

Id also start with the fuel filter just cuz it is a cheap fix if it doesn't happen anymore.

I have an 03 also and it had the same issue to the point where I was starting it with ether.

It ended up being injectors.

it has 183000 miles on it and nothing that i know of has been changed on the fuel system. it has no upgrades it is bone stock

With that information im totally thinking injectors. . . . Mine went bad at 190,000

I bet at least half the injectors fail a leak-back test.

That is what happened to mine. I ended up buying a set of OEM Mopar Injectors . .
