Has anyone made a 2wd a 4wd?

Has anyone here turned a 2wd into a 4wd? I bought a 99 cab and chassis with a single cab, toolbox shaped like the cab and a dump bed. It's a 5.9, 5 speed and I have everything to make it 4wd. I just wanted to know if there were any to look out for or any obstacles I need to know about.

Depends on whether or not the truck came with the straight axle up front or not, if it came with that it's not a huge ordeal, just swapping parts. If it came with IFS you will be better off trading trucks.

I has the straight axle, that's one reason I bought it. One concern I have is the vacuum to engage the 4x4. I have all the lines off another truck. I assume it will all hook up the same.

get a posi-lock kit to engage/disengage the front axle

very easy conversion to 4wd on your truck

My truck is 2wd, and I shift the lever on the floor it becomes 4wd. Pretty easy really. LOL!

The trouble is the only lever on my floor only makes it go forward and backwards!:bang Way to :kick: Thanks!LOL
