he351we vs he351vgt turbo elbows

not sure what but there is a difference i know because doing a swap in a 6.7 u have to run the 04.5-07 elbow and you dont have to modify your down pipe
 
the turbine end is of a different diameter, down pipe end is the same
 
The older elbow is a bit longer than the 6.7 VGT elbow. What are you planning for mods?
 
the 5.9 elbow will not bolt up to the 6.7 vgt turbo, the vgt one is actually smaller in diameter at the turbine side
 
as others have said the 6.7 down pipe is smaller in diameter on the turbo side but identical to the 5.9 down pipe on the opposite side.
