head gasket question

I have never played with an engine that has been fire ringed before. What head gasket should I use? Can you re use a head gasket on a fire ringed block and head?

Haisley's and no you can not reuse the gasket. You will need to take some measurements as there are some options to the ring's outside diameter and wire thickness.

I just had mine Fire Ringed. What kind of boost were you able to safely run? I had been running 65psi and am wanting to bump it up to 70psi.

Pat , I was running 80 psi on my old engine with 0 problems. And that was with o rings and arp 2000's I expect to be well over 100psi with this engine

Kev, have you talked to Haisley for the procedure for the fire rings install?

I been wondering if how much surface clean-up (basically prep) you can do to the surfaces of the head and block, before you start to effect the durablity of the new fire ring.

if you use fire rings and a copper gasket like the ones i've put together you can reuse the gasket no problem.
