How many miles have some of Yall made it with stock head gasket and what mods? Im at 230k and no problems yet but was wondering whenI should start getting ready! I dont drive hard. Just a work truck and try to keeps egts down below 1400 or so but this little turbo sucks.

Keep the boost under 50psi ,and make sure the engine is at operating temp before you beat on it. The head gasket will go when it goes. I dont think its a mileage thing. Knock on wood. It may never blow.

X2 it will go when it goes:pop::poke: just depends what your throwing at it. There are far to many variables to factor in saying yup it will start to go at said mileage.

Drive it smart and like stated always have a heat cycle or two on the motor before opening it up. Mine when after driving 40min so she was completely warm. Guess it just had enough of high boost 70+psi and higher timing.

Good luck:Cheer:

No one is ever happy with the power they are making. You may seem happy with it this week or month but, soon the hp bug will take over.

Its like having to much fun......not possible.

Maybe its just me but I started out with 40hp sticks and now look where Im at. About to get a full out engine build under way.

Good luck:Cheer:

Well this is my welding truck and it has dead wieght in it all the time. But I know if it had more it would cause me to drive the s**t out of it a little too much. im just trying to be honest with myself. If I tell myself its fine then less prone to want some 200s and a set of twins. That would be nice but Im trying to replace wifes common rail and try to make a little power with it.

Ya I should just get a nice common rail myself and keep it stockish so I can hall the family more comfortable but, Id pry go to far with it. I have enough money to finish what I have or to buy a mildly built 3rd gen. Its a toss up.
