Does any machining to the rocker plates have to be done in order to install head studs from ARP on a 99 24 valve? A buddy of mine put in head studs on his first gen 12v and had machining to do and I am familiar with the torque re torque sequence already.
Also where near Toledo OH or Buffalo NY is a good place to have the head machining done?
What gasket do you recommend for an o-ringed head. Is Port and polish worth the time and money?
While I am tearing down the motor to do this work what springs do some of you use and what camshaft if necessary.

I am planning on upgrading turbo (Aurora 3000 or HTT 62/65/13ss) at the time the injectors go in that I have (100hp). Eventually I will be looking at a compound system so I figured do all the machining and head work once and not have to worry about it again.
Thanks for any advice you can give

no machining on the 24V's but if you don't bottom tap the block you will have to do a little grinding on the valve cover to make it clear the stud.

stock gasket if you dont have to have your head milled.

i dont see many people taking about p&p a head, so im unsure on that.

hamilton and F1 are my picks for cams and hamilton for springs JMO

Is a different cam really necessary for running a single turbo on a daily driver or are they more geared for if/when I can afford the compound setup?
Thanks
Ray

you would really benefit from a cam if you were going to run a 66mm turbo as a single for spool up

I wasn't looking to go as big as a 66 turbo because of the 5-speed in my truck and I need quick spool. Also I tow a good amount with the truck to have a lot of lag especially with 100hp injectors. I just don't see enough info on the auroras. Not many people use them. That holds me back from buying one.

you probably dont need a cam, most dont. we just want them. i would go with a HTT62/65/14.

Does high tech have a warranty on their products because ATS boldly displays a 3 year 150k mile warranty? Also has anyone ever had problems with a 62/65/14 surging?

I plan on getting an intake horn and exhaust manifold at the same time to improve air flow. Yes it is going to be a big bill$$.
