Head torque? HELP

[97' CTD]

How do you guys re-torque the head without an extension I just dont think I have room to do it without a stubby extension (Around 3" long give or take a few) Just let me have it, I might be dumb but I aint dumb! op:

i use a short socket with a 1/2" extension and my torque wrench has a swivel kneck

I use the short extension. 3" I think.
