I have a head to work on dont know how much of a pain in the ass it is to ship it or how much it will cost. All I have for the twin setup so far is the secondary which I am running now as the single. Any opinions the rest of the twins setup will cost 2400 and the headwork will be roughly 1000 ish plus the shipping and handling. which first please and Y

if you are gonna do twins you gotta pull the head to have it o-ringed anyways

so ya get the head done first, get it bolted down good, and do the twins when ya can afford it

You don't need o-rings on a CR with that set of twins.Head studs will work fine with the stock MLS gasket.I would do the twins.

I know alot of people blowing headgaskets are using the s480 which moves a ton of air. I am going to be running a s475 dont know if that matters in respect to needing an oring or not. If I get the head surfaced and check the block for straightness and all is good I may not oring. Should I oring for this twin setup or just use the mls?? Also with the heads ability to move more air and less boost pressure I think Id be less prone to headgasket failure, correct me if Im wrong to think this.

cly pressure is what blows head gaskets

not boost pressure

already told ya what i would do

but i dont like getting stuck out in the middle of some of the places i have to tow thru comin back from a race

like when my stock output shaft twisted in half crossin the cahulawassee river

ever see deliverance?

I run a 64/71/14 over an S475 with no O or Fire rings with ARP's and the stock MLS gasket....62 psi multiple times every day for over 20,000 miles and it's as good as the day it was put together. Hell..the studs have never even been re-torqued.

I agree

I ran the S480 in twins for two years and NO problemo with the stock Head Gasket. You have to tune your twins and that's why I went with an external 40mm wastegate. Tune your drive pressure and you should be fine. You don't need 80psi of boost IMO,.. I ran at just 52psi. Call Dave at HTT and he can explain it much better than I can but that high boost pressure will buy you a bunch of problems.

You dont need O-rings or fire rings on a CR unless you plan on going REALLY big, a good set of studs and a MLS gasket will go a long way, and is the route alot of CR owners have went and have had great success, towing or racing it is a good and reliable mod.

Twins for sure.

I wouldn't be too worried about head work at the level your at JMO.
