The heated seat switch for my 2000 just flashes now and then goes off. The other side works fine. Is the switch bad or do i need to look at something else.

I have the same issue. I believe it means the heating element is bad, not the switch. Is it the driver's side?

I'm in the same boat it means the element is bad some ppl say you can fix it but haven't tried yet

Yep drivers side. I guess for the heck of it, i could try to switch the switchs to see if it changes anything. Might be worth a try. How would you replace the element?

switches are different unwrap the leather and pull the old element off try online for a supplier

If it's flashing that means the there is a short either in the wiring or the element. Usually it's the element that's bad though.

The heating elements are monitored. When you turn the heat on (doesn't matter hi or low), if:

"high" light flashes the element has an open circuit
"low" light flashes, the sensor is output is out of range
"low" and "high" flash, the heating element has a short in it.

IIRC, You can test it in the rig to know if it's the front or back element. If you want the instructions, I'll try to look it up and post. Otherwise, it's most likely the bottom element. Pull the cushion out, gently take the cover off the foam and start measuring. Even the "out of range" sensor value for the thermister has been a broken wire that was easily repaired.
