heater controls

Have an 04 2500 and the heater will randomly go to full heat. When first starting the truck in the morning you can hear damper motors cycling for a few seconds then stop. Any ideas about what mabey happening? It has the manual selector switches not digital readout control. Any help would be awesome, thanks.

Will it blow cool if the temp is moved to cool? My guess would be the blower resistor. It's under the glove box accessible from the underside. Pull the connector and see if you have a terminal burnt / melted.
