My 24V tow rig heater will NOT get hot it blows luke warm air? I just replaced my T-stat with no luck, can a heater core go bad other than leaking? Help me out this is crap.*bdh*

I have the same problem in my '97. It gets a little warm, but no were near hot like it should or used to

Mine did that when the hg blew...............open the overflow bottle on the radiator while it is idleing and check for rhythmic bubbles. If you are getting those bubbles its probably bad news for the hg.

Also check for vac leaks, if the blend door gets stuck it will not blow enough air across the heater core to make the air hot.

mine was that way for a little bit then i but card bored in front of my truck it got warmer idk if that will help what does you temp gauge read?

The temp gauge stays right on 190*, I will check vac leaks and overflow bottle for signs of a blowed head gasket I hope not I just pulled each bolt out ( 1 at a time and step torqued them down ) cleaned and ARP lubed them and torqued to 125Ft-Lbs but my luck it will be the gasket I will get back later.....

If you want try taking off the heater lines and take a water hose and flush both ways a few times, sometimes this helps did mine

Where do you look to check this?

Just start chasing down all the vac lines under the hood and looking at them. Make sure they are all hooked up and have no kinks of holes chaffed in them where they rub anything. I had this happen on my old blazer but it was the AC that gave me fits. Another thing I have noticed on this body style truck is that leaves and junk can make their way into the blower/heater core/AC coil area and screw it up. Only problem there is pulling the dash to get to everything.
