I got a call from sheid diesel this morning confirming that they recieved my pump and giving me the estimate on building the pump. I had the choice between using the "smaller" plungers and getting about 370cc or using the bigger plungers and getting 600cc. I chose to go with the 370cc setup, I know I wont need 600cc or probably even 400cc if I back it down. I was worried about the reliability of the much bigger plungers and knowing I wouldnt need all the extra fuel. I think it will make plenty of power with 370cc anyway.
The question is do you guys think reliability is a concern when getting big fuel from an injection pump? I would consider 600cc a very large amount of fuel for an A pump.
To me it could reduce the life of the pump by a good bit just like you can reduce the life of an engine by trippling its power output. I understand the ve pumps suffer reliability when heavily modded but what about the inline pumps like the A pump or P pump?
