Hello from DFW!! Cummins powered K5 fun...

I was directed here from a buddy on my local car forum. Time to get to the good stuff....

I'm currently helping my good friend build the truck of his dreams. It started life as a 76 K5 with a 350/350, it has now turned into a frame-off beast. It has a 5.9L Cummins 12 valve, 48RE with a suncoast manual valve body, NP203, and currently running 39" tires (until we get the springs re-arched). We are currently finishing the body work, but we have been keeping an on-going photo log, if anyone is interested. Well enough talk, time for the pics!!

Welcome to comp d. That's a nice build and different but I see axle up grades in the very near future. That 44 and twelve bolt isn't gonna live long hooked to that twelve valve. And those ball joints probably are grunting as we speak with that tire and the weight of that combination. Glad to see I'm not the only 73-87/91 GM lover!

The front springs definitely flattened out once all the weight was put on them. I've been keeping an eye on the ball joints too, I've got a pool going as to how long they last. Axles are next on the list, but the main goal is to get the truck out of the shop. This will give my buddy a little more fun money in his pocket.

We did it after you left, when I got there. I got there about 4pm, and stayed until 1:30am.

I'm just not a fan of cowl hoods with nothing underneath them... it just screams Garland and/or "mullet inside"

Who cares brah, it's like having SRT10 hoods on our trucks, almost everything we do is about looks. It's like a polished intake pipe
