Help!!!duramax Engine Unknown

We have a 2004 c5500 chevrolet kodiak tow truck with duramax allison setup.Engine blew, bought an engine and come to find out they are diff blocks.The block that come out of the truck has two ears behind the harmonic balancer, and i cant find a block to match. Anyone have some good news for me>>

I don't know about the ears your talking about
2004 was the year they changed over to the LLY half way thru

nobody knows the answer its two ears on each side of the block with threaded holes for the motor mount i have no idea what the deal is prolly just gonna rebuild the block that i have

Does the block have a vin on it?
