HELP! Low oil pressure on DIC and gauge dropped to zero!

I just put a water pump on my truck today, no leaks or anything. let it idle for about 20 minutes them drove about 2 miles to watch the world series. left there and drove about a mile and it started dinging and saying oil pressure low and the gauge was on zero. shut it off and started it still nothing, shut it off and started it again and it hit 60psi but then the needle started twitching so i drove off slow and limped it the half mile home but it hit zero again when i turned onto my street. no sign of oil leaks, oil level is good. what could it be???? sensor maybe???? how do i check????
 
just put head gaskets on it about 3 weeks ago. engine sounded fine and oil level was good.
 
maybe just the sending unit. Best bet may be to get a mechanical guage and check oil pressure at the oil cooler/filter housing.
 
I figured it out. I accidentally smashed some of the wires when I put the accessory bracket back on the drivers side after doing the head gaskets......oops
