Help please

I cant seem to get this figured out. When I start my truck (96 12v) it seems to idle fine in park fluctuates a little now and then. When I put it in gear it might idle fine for a second then the idle drops way off to 200rpms or so and then eventually dies. Sometimes it dies as soon as I put it in gear. THis is both when the truck is completly warm and when it is cold. Any ideas??? I am getting tired of pedaling this thing to keep it running:doh:
 
Does it idle between 650-750rpm before you put it in gear? It should. If you can keep it running with the pedal and it runs alright on the road, just turn the idle up.
 
Idle screw get hammered all it's life by the throttle shaft lever. Just give one turn to the idle screw clock wise and if happend again give another one turn.

EDIT: We fix a lot of those Cummins P7100 with this problem and all time is that idle screw.
 
I will adjust the idle a little. It idles right at 950 or so in park. But sometimes it goes down to 650 or so
