I have an 01 dodge, sometimes when starting the truck all it does is a clicking noise. You can work the key and the starter will kick in and turn it over. It does this just on random occasiouns, i was just wonderin if its a cylinod goin bad or wat it could be.

Starter contacts, common issue, GO HERE and order a set of contacts, yank the starter off and install. About all you will need is a 10mm wrench (12 point), breaker bar or another wrench to break the bolts loose, 8mm wrench and an 8-10 inch crescent to get the battery cable off with. Be sure to disconnect both batteries before trying anything. It's really easy, taking my time and cleaning the hell out of everything it took me about an hour start to finish.
If you do not feel confident doing it yourself just find a starter shop nearby, they should be able to hook you up. Starter failures are not super common on these trucks, contact problems are.
