help with choosing a box

I have an 02 6 speed rclb 3.54, mostly just do it all truck, lots of trailer hauling, hay wagons, equipment etc. list of mods are afe stage 2, 4in dp thru 5in back edge ez. all maintenance done inlcuding valve adj. its got 114k on it. 3250sb dd clutch

the ez box is getting old to me. I don't really like all the smoke that it puts out but its not to bad. I'd like to run a better programmer and maybe try to pick up some mpg when I'm not hauling. with the ez it seems really surgy to at low rpm lugging conditions.

what do you all recommend to do. thanks
 
how do they seem to work with the vp trucks, had one on my 06 dually and power range seemed to be all over. I have a friend that runs a triple dog with a 2.4d tune and its very smooth. in an 06 of course
 
IMO the Juice is awesome on the VP's. I tried Quad and did not like it.
 
well we also have a 3.0 class puller so no I guess not a lot but i can see power and fuel mileage going all over my back bumper
 
the standard ol' comp box was great when i used to tow with my 02.

i had a banks 14cm housing on the hx35, and 100hp injectors, set the comp box to level 2, with the sub-level (smoke level) turned down and it would pull great.

those were old technology injectors, i bet a set of todays 90hp injectors in your truck would run great without a ton of heat.

Odd, my brother had one on his 2001 with 90hp injectors and it would hardly smoke at all and he got 24 mpg highway, he did have a intake exhaust and airdog though so that probably helped. He upgraded too a smarty, drag comp stack and loves it. The transmission didn't though lol.
 
If ez smokes than chances are anytthing else you put on it will smoke as much or more. Ive heard alot of good things about mvp!! To me 100s are border line pulling. Youve got to keep your eyes on the gauge too much. I would do 50s or 75s with ez and it will be pretty clean and have decent power. I run my truck with comp on 1 with what i have and it pulls great and not too smokey.
