I got a 01 24 valve cummins. Its been gettin really cold here in ky the past few days and i noticed that my truck was lagging on starting. Its alil worse than usual. I was jus wonderin if i might need to replace a battery or replace the manifold heater. I coded it when i got home and it didnt throw a code but after drivin it for about forty min the wait to start light stayed on as if the engine was cold. I dont really know what would cause this either i was just wondering if yall might have any ideas on what it could be thanks.

Might want to pull the grid heater out and make sure its intact. I removed mine once and found one of the heating elements had gotten so hot it burned through itself, leaving me with only one element working. Just damn lucky it didnt get sucked into the engine! WTS light should not stay on like that. Check your IAT sensor, it may need cleaned so that it provides the proper signal to the PCM to tell it when the heaters need to be on.
