Guys im putting in the resistor that goes with my Trans and i have two questions for ya first off there are two black wires with brown tracers on the plug second there is something wired up and soldered in on the orange wire with a the white plug. In daves instructions it says to remove any resistor but theirs is not on the same plug as what he mentions in the note. Thanks for any help guys i have a get together to go to tonight and right now my truck is half in the shop with no intake.

option B does anyone know daves cell # i cant seem to find the paper i wrote it on and he isn't answering is house or the shop.

try messageing garret sheilds "bobcat" on here he prolley can help you in getting it figured out or get his number

whats this resistor you are talking about? I didn't get one with my goerends, but I have a 12valve. is that for teh 24vs?

Not all 12 valves needed the resistor. I can't remember exactly what it's for, but it keeps the tranny from going into limp mode.

It prevents the computer from freaking out & throwing the truck into limp mode due to the higher pressures the GB valve body creates.
My truck never had one and it never freaked out due to high line pressure.

I think it was certain years that needed them. The 'ol 97 has one on it.

Garrett you have a pm

I just guessed guys and it worked. I went with the bigger wire and just pulled the other thing off ( it didn't look stock). Thanks for all the help guys.

Oh and it was to keep it from going inot limp mode. After about a few miles i would only have 3rd gear.

was the ohter thing a little black box that was soldered in line? If so it was a valve body assistant. Which should have basically done the same thing.

Except for the Oklahoma part but ill get over it.

It was in there but not the same way daves is.

I think dave is sending diodes, at least last time I had a convo with him he was. I personally run a VBA. All your doing is keeping the PCM from seeing too large of Voltage.

just curious if you guys know of any other options if I don't have a valve body assistant? was going to put in a 150 ohm resistor on possibly the green white or orange wire off the center harness on the pcm...problem is radio shack is out online and in my hometown store.I really would like something that might be more durable in the future since the resistor is kinda thin.but now my option to even diagnose my 1763 and 1765 codes requires something else.Don't want to bother dave if I dont have to so let me know if you guys have any suggestions to finding a vba possibly.:thankyou2:

ok guys, finally installing my vba from haisley and there is no mention on which black with brown tracer i should use. pin 30 or 31? or does it matter? hoping to get it done before it gets dark tonight. matt
